Day 1 : Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Zagora.
Our expedition commences with a departure from Ouarzazate at 8:30 am, setting course towards the Kasbah des Cigognes for a panoramic view of the picturesque lake. En route to Zagora, we traverse the Tizi-n-Tinififft pass (1660 meters), passing through Agdz and pausing at the Kasbah of Alkaid Ali in Tamnougalte for lunch. The afternoon journey leads us through the Draa Valley, adorned with lush palm trees and dotted with traditional ksours, culminating in dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Zagora.
Day 2 : Zagora - Tafraoute.
Begin the day with a morning excursion to Tamgroute, where you’ll visit the ancient Koranic library and explore the underground Kasbah of Zouïa, engaging with local potters along the way. Embark on the Paris-Dakar track towards Tafraoute, traversing the Tizi-N-Tifilalet pass and marveling at the desert plateaus that stretch along the Algerian border. Arrive in Tafraoute for dinner and an overnight stay in an inn or homestay.
Day 3 : Tafraoute - Ramlia - Ouzina - Taouz - Khamlia - Merzouga.
Following breakfast, journey across the sandy Oued Ghris, passing through the remote villages of Ramlia and Ouzina with lunch served on the track. Continue to Taouz to explore its ancient rock engravings before spending the night at a bivouac nestled at the base of the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.
Day 4 : Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - Merzouga.
Starte on a morning exploration of the two oases of Merzouga, the nomadic depot, and the village of Khamlia, known as the “village of blacks,” as well as the Mifiss mines. Encounter Berber nomads amidst the desert plateaus and explore the oasis of Tissardmine before returning to the hostel by midday. In the afternoon, set out on a camel caravan to witness the sunset amidst the dunes, spending the night in a wild oasis under a Berber tent.
Day 5 : Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley.
Awaken early to behold the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. Depart for Erfoud, where you’ll visit a fossilized marble factory before continuing to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Lunch awaits at the Todra Gorges before journeying through Boumalne and the verdant Dades Valley, arriving at the Dades Gorges for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6 : Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, traverse the Dades valley to the Kasbah of Aït Youl, then follow a scenic track through the Valley of Roses, admiring its kasbahs and ksours en route to Kelaa M’gouna for lunch. Return to Ouarzazate via the Skoura palm grove, with a visit to the Kasbah of Amédhyle before concluding our expedition.
